Isabel Galiana is a climate change economist, entrepreneur and creative problem solver. Her work in energy and climate change economics focuses on accelerating low-carbon technological change through a public policy and private enterprise decision making lens. She has consulted for the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, the UN, the Copenhagen Consensus, among others. She was also a key advisor to the government of Quebec on developing its climate policy.
Isabel holds a B.Sc. Geology, BSc. Economics, and M.Sc. Economics. She began her PhD in Economics at McGill University where she taught Energy and Environmental Economics before leaving to launch a start-up. For the past 8 years Isabel was CEO and co-founder of a software as a medical device company (NeuroFlex) that she led from early R&D to global distribution. During this time, she won numerous awards including: L’Oreal Women in Digital, Start Up Canada, Octas, Ubisoft Women in Tech and SheEO (now Coralus).
Isabel appreciates working on complex problems in a pragmatic and collaborative way and focuses on understanding the key concerns of all stakeholders. Having lived in 6 countries, Isabel is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
