DUBLIN, IRELAND, 17 JUNE 2025 – Future Energy Global has successfully concluded a first transaction on the recently launched IATA (CADO) SAF Registry. The recent transaction saw the delivery to Microsoft of a first tranche of SAF Scope 3 certificates derived from Cathay Pacific Airways’ purchases of Sustainable Aviation Fuel. This supports Microsoft’s ongoing drive to reach net zero emissions by 2030.
Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Future Energy Global works with leading airlines worldwide to source SAF and to develop markets in SAF credits. Future Energy Global is a member of the first “early onboarding” cohort of IATA SAF Registry users as well as a certified Book and Claim trader with both RSB and ISCC.
IATA, the International Air Transport Association, is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing some 340 airlines and over 80% of global air traffic. IATA developed the SAF Registry in consultation with airlines, government authorities, aircraft manufacturers, fuel producers, and other stakeholders, including Future Energy Global, and established the Civil Aviation Decarbonisation Organisation (CADO) to manage the Registry.
“We’re delighted with our first transaction on the IATA SAF Registry,” said Future Energy Global CEO Natasha Mann. “Our purpose in Future Energy Global is to scale SAF production by building a collaborative ecosystem involving all aviation stakeholders. We’re proud to have designed this Scope 3 certificate transaction which has brought together Microsoft, Cathay Pacific, and the IATA SAF Registry.”
